This process facilitates the design of c o o p version 13 at The Theatre Practice through a series of game-like process by evolving 3 layers of being that constitute a living organism/architecture:
Thinking with our hands (according to the genetics of c o o p) to generate [1] body | form.
Tapping into our sub/unconscious to discover[2] spirits | habitus
Excavating inherent dynamics of the site to harness breathing[3] energy | life
The process evolves the design of a spatial construct that attempts to be an extension of the body that acts, feels, relates to the environment and within, where architecture is essentially an interface around our body. It mediates the way we interact with the outside world by framing, extending, empowering, segregating, protecting, connecting, magnifying, amplifying…. and an infinite other possibilities of extending our body and altering the way we experience and operate in our world.
We hope to uniquely personify and embody the magic of the place to instil a new way of life with those who encounter and inhabit the space through this architecture. As the users manoeuvre within and around, they unfold inhabitable spaces and relationships through their daily operations and ways of life. Time inevitably becomes part of space, evolving life and narrating stories where the built form turns into a living organism of live storytelling and spectatorship.
We shall discover/uncover the magic of a strangely familiar world with [4] awareness and sensitivity to the tangible and intangible, facilitating and rehearsing a new way of life that can bring [5] bliss and delight to our mundane everyday at 54, 56 & 58 Waterloo Street.
