Behind the Scene

Clockwork Stories is a series of 5 curious playground contraptions designed and hand-built for iLight Marina Bay 2016. They are conceived as characters who breathe bubbles when provoked. These characters breathe bubbles in their own ways as environmental receptors to the phenomenal and unnoticed at Marina Bay. The presence of different surrounding light sources and phenomena such as wind, water current, human interactions will activate the life of these creatures.

These stories with spectacular light spectrum revealed by these bubbling creatures will unfold as time passes.

This work aims to induce situations and relationships in the city. To spread and invite the participation of the public to engage in the the simple joy of reconnecting to the environment. To empower our lives through the use of alternative resources, demonstrate a possible way to appreciate our daily nuances and shift the current way we live and experience the world.

This work was conceived and built at Nanyang Polytechnic with students from Diploma in Spatial Design
